May 26If no election is called, the Parish Council will look to co-opt a new Councillor at their meeting on 20th July. Please contact the Parish Clerk for more information – clerk@boughtonparishcouncil.co.uk or 07918329763
Cllr VacancyFurther to the Parish Council’s last post (https://boughtonparishcouncil.co.uk/news/verge-post-markers-on-moulton-lane ) the Parish Council decided the following response:
“conflicting opinion on whether bollards should be installed or not, the Council do not object but propose residents contact Highways directly via Boughtonqueries@kier.co.uk if they wish to request wooden bollards outside of their properties.”
Please share and circulate this message so the effected residents can make contact with Highways, preferably by the end of April 2026.
As previously reported (https://boughtonparishcouncil.co.uk/news/additional-speed-cushions-in-the-village) additional speed cushions on Howard Lane and Moulton Lane are to be installed by WNC/Kier.
Letters are being posted by WNC/Kier to properties on:

Apr 26As parishioners will be aware, WNC/Kier recently wrote to home owners and requested they remove unauthorised posts in the Highway verge outside of their property.
WNC/Kier are proposing to install compliant posts (to replace ones previously removed) and implement double yellow lines. If Parishioners do not wish to have these measures installed, then they must email clerk@boughtonparishcouncil.co.uk by 20th April 2026 before the work commences.

During Working Group discussions regarding traffic calming, concerns about road safety at the junction of Howard Lane/Moulton Lane junction were noted.
WNC/Kier’s solution was to make the crossing safer for pedestrians by building out the footway (see below). Concerns were raised about the ability of the school busy to safely turn the corner if the junction was made narrower. WNC/Kier have agreed to mark out the area using cones and assess the impact during the school bus route (morning and afternoon).
Whilst it is anticipated that Kier officers will be on site under taking the monitoring, it is essential that parishioners do not move the cones.
Should parishioners wish to provide any comments on this proposed project, then please email clerk@boughtonparishcouncil.co.uk by 20th April 2026 (comments recieved after this date cannot be taken into consideration).
Boughton Phase 2-SHEET 3The final Working Group meeting took place between representatives of Boughton Parish Council (BPC) and WNC/Kier.
Parishioners previously requested additional speed cushions on Howard Lane. Following further technical assessment, WNC/Kier are able to install two further cushions on Howard Lane (towards Vyse Road) and one on Moulton Lane (towards Moulton). Work will commence in due course.
Boughton Speed Cushion Location Plan
Given the clear impact the proposals in WNC’s draft Local Plan would have upon the Parish of Boughton and surrounding areas, the Parish Council have sought expert guidance on the matter. The planning consultant has provided a detailed and robust response. Further details are to be included about Boughton Quarry before the final submission on 27th March 2026.
The Parish Council would encourage Parishioners to submit a response to the consultation, which proposes 1,500 houses north of Buckton Fields (amongst many other things). https://www.westnorthants.gov.uk/consultations/west-northamptonshire-local-plan-help-shape-future-your-area
