Buckton Fields Community Centre – update 15.07.26

As we move closer to completion of the Buckton Fields Community Centre, the Parish Council wish to address some misinformation which appears to be circulating.

• The Parish Council intend to lease the building to Born to Shine, and are currently agreeing the terms of a Service Level Agreement (SLA) regarding the operation of the Community Centre.
• Born to Shine are currently preparing a draft timetable of proposed bookings which includes, but is not limited to, baby classes, youth groups, dance classes, coffee mornings etc. There are also discussions regarding a local quiz, table top sales and private birthday party bookings.
• However, until we complete on the transfer of the freehold and subsequently the Lease, further information is commercially sensitive.
• The SLA will stipulate quarterly review meetings with the Parish Council.
• The Lease will include a termination clause should key terms of the SLA not be met.
• The Council will also have the opportunity to terminate the lease at year 3, should they feel the arrangement is not in the best interest of the Parishioners.

The Council are confident this proposal will deliver a vibrant, diverse community hub for Parishioners.  However, should any concerns or issue arise during it’s operation the Council welcome parishioner feedback to address the matters accordingly.

The Council will post further information on the opening of the Community Centre as soon as it is available.
